Blog Entry #16

After Hazel agreed to let us post more content on their social media platforms, our group decided to start creating a YouTube channel to advertise Made Real. This channel would also tie into our DMB module and the video that we are currently in the process of making for them. We intend to have Made Real's snacks featured in the video and their various social media accounts featured at the end of the video as well to advertise for them and channel traffic from YouTube to their more well-managed Instagram and Facebook account.

Blog Entry #15

Recently, we have been busy with assignments and with Robin and Roslyn being overseas, we have not had much time nor the opportunity to post content on Made Real's social media calendar. However, we had already planned a social media calendar way back at the start of June.
Screenshot of our social media calendar.
Thankfully, Zyi managed to contact Hazel to communicate to her that we needed to post some content on their social media platforms for our module and Hazel said that she understood and subsequently, let us post on their social media platforms.

Blog Entry #15

20 July, 2015

I noticed that MadeReal have not been posting these few days as Roslyn and Robin is away, hence i wanted to do my part and help out with managing social media for them. So i contacted Hazel and spoke on the phone with her, she explained that actually TengFong and some other intens is assigned to managed the postings on social media by Roslyn about the reads and articles, she also said that the postings is all more formal and serious, which i felt is indirectly telling me that if we manage it, the standard is not there, which is what Roslyn won't want to see.

I stress that we need to manage the online platforms as this module is social media marketing,  if we don't do so, we will be markdown and greatly affect our grades. As Hazel does not have the authority to make decisions for MadeReal, so she just let me know that for the next few postings, she can will let us post on behalf on instagram with her help by checking through of course.

More updates on the postings asap.

Blog Entry #14

I've actually done up a Hari raya poster for MadeReal, i contacted Hazel asking her if it's ok for me to post on behalf of MadeReal, she spoke to me on the phone the other day and told me that i'll have to wait till Roslyn to come back before postings are made. She explained that herself haven't been updating as she is also waiting for Roslyn to be back. Therefore i couldn't make the postings.

Blog entry #22

13 July 2015 (Monday)

That day Ging Yang, Zong Wei and me went to LHK Office at 6pm. It was initially planned to have the meeting at 10am but Hazel has a meeting in the afternoon and hence the meeting was postponed to late hour.

Our group had planned to help out with the packing of boxes in the morning, get the necessary products and go back SP to do the filming. There is a change of plan since we cannot get the product until late night time which is impossible to return back SP. Most of our group members are not free after Thursday and so we plan to make the DMB filming to be at 14 July 2015, the day after we got the products.

If this filming was to be successful, it could be posted to Made Real social media platform and so Hazel requested to meet us at Dover to see our progress on the filming as well as to give us some suggestions.

We had help to shred a lot of magazines that night and help with the packing of 50 boxes which is quite time consuming. We completed the work at around 9pm plus and head back towards Aljunied Mrt and buy some other snack that is needed for our DMB filming.

9 July 2015 (Thursday)
That day, we got a very angry message from Natalie saying that didn’t receive any schedule post except for the caption that was being sent yesterday by either Roseann or ZhengYi. Explanations were given saying that we accidentally forgotten as we have assignments to rush on that week and luckily she just told us to take note of it next time.

Hazel brought back the topic about having a flash mob in Orchard to promote Made Real and asked us to contact the dancers about it. Unfortunately, the dancers rejected the offer they are no transportation is given and they also cannot accept the fact that the timing keep changes continuously. We informed them about it and Hazel had asked us for our lecturer contact number so I seek Ms Dora’s permission before giving Hazel the number. But maybe because she is busy recently that’s why she couldn’t make the call to Ms Dora.

8 July 2015 (Wednesday)

The previous day which is Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Our lecturer, Ms Dora, told us that our event proposal have been rejected and hence we can’t organized the event in school. This is applied to everyone that no physical event is allowed as it is not SP main event so it is not possible to organize any event in SP. Hazel suggested to organize the road show in Orchard instead. Natalie also told us that the photos that we had chosen some of the unedited photos which have poor lighting etc the previous day. She told us to take note of it in the future, our team didn’t realized that the photos selected wasn’t completely edited so we did make an error.

Luckily the photos have not been posted to the timeline and they can still edit it themselves. According to what Natalie said, she had just posted an article on the Made Real website about the Shiok sg event and requested us to schedule a post for their article. She told us that we can create a caption and let her looked through it later on to check if editing is required or not. But everyone is rushing for their e-law assignment that week, so we are not sure whether we are able to complete everything on time or not.

7 July 2014(Tuesday)
Today our team went to Clementi Mall to meet hazel in the Starbucks coffee. As Robin and Roslyn are now overseas in Shanghai, Hazel is in-charge of looking after our progress as well as Made Real. We started discussing on the further details of the event and updating Hazel our progress also. As our SMM lecturer, Ms Dora, had informed us that there might have a possibility there the event cannot be held in Singapore Polytechnic as it won't get the permission of this. We have told this to Hazel and she seems to be disappointed but she asked, "if the event was to get permission to be held on SP, what is the that we are left to do?". We had created another Facebook account for this silent flash mob, started posting the event information, finalized the poster and plans on getting the logistic that is gong to used during the event. It had been decided that since the mini flash-mob cannot be held, then we might have the SDZ dancers to perform, showcase of Made Real's booth and distribute the Made Real's flyers. Previously, Zheng Yi and Wei Jie had designed a poster using Photoshop but  now we decided to use the flyers leftover from the Botanic Garden's event.

After the discussion of the event, we asked Hazel if it is possible to make a post on their social media more often, she agrees. But for the Facebook account, only Roseann gain access to it and so we decide to select some photos from #FitForAPurpose event, the two days event for Shiok Sg held in East Coast Park. Each of the members will choose 5-7 images and send the image number to Roseann who will upload them into the Facebook account as an album.

Our next meeting with Hazel will be at 13 July 2014 around the morning. We needed Made Real's snack and their box for our digital media business filming but she needed us to help with the packing of boxes. So the meeting next week will be helping her with the packing as well as to get the necessary things for the filming.

13 July 2015(Monday)

Today, only me, Qi Wen and Zong Wei went to help Made Real pack the 50 boxes. We packed them from 6pm till 8pm. We also discussed on the things that we are going to bring tomorrow 14 July 2015 for the video shooting for DMB Mr Lynus class. We planned to use this video editing and post it at Made Real's facebook page and promote their products and brand awareness.

Blog entry #24

For 9 July 2015 (Thursday)

Today, during DMB lesson, Natalie and Hazel reprimanded us that during these two days we are not actively helping them, we have also explained to them that during these two days we are busy with our project and they understood that and told us that we should tell her next time earlier if such things happens again. Since we cannot do our flash mob in Singapore Poly, Hazel asked us that whether can we have the flash mob at orchard instead. However the dancers are having many competition and training going on and since there are no transport provided, it will be hard for the dancers to be at the orchard at a specific timing as the dancers are from different courses and some of the dancers are Muslims. Thus, the flash mob won't be carried out.

Therefore, we have the following plans.
1. Complete the video editing and if it's good , we will post this video on Made Real social media account and garner more audiences and brand awareness.
2. Do more posting on their social media account to promote their page as their post now is all about the snack box. we thought of using motivational quotes and some other healthy regards such as healthy fruit and stuff.
3. We will be viewing Nature Box and Kawaii Box which we have used in the presentation and other overseas companies social media websites and see what type of content they post, how they interact with their customers etc...

For 8 July 2015 (Wednesday)

Today, we uploaded the pictures of the event that was held during 27 and 28th June 2015 at East Coast Park. Our group selected 30 photos and uploaded it to the Made Real Facebook page and this will be only seen under the albums page and not shown in the timeline of the Made Real Facebook Page. These photos are from Made Real and they have invited us to their Made Real team google docs folder. Below is the evidence of the post .

Blog Entry #12

9/7 Thursday

So today, we confirmed with the Strictly Dance Zone members if they are able to make it to orchard for the flash mob which is proposed by Made Real. However, due to some reasons like their timetable is too packed and its out of Singapore Poly, they said no to the idea. This is understandable as it seems too much of us to ask for their help.

During that day when the no physical campaign is allowed in SP, I was just frozen and thinking what to do now. That truth came too sudden as the proposal and event details are going smoother after many trials and obstacles. But during that period of time, there are other more important stuff going on so we did not really have a major meeting on this.

Currently, after the dancer decline the idea, our group have no idea for any campaign now. And we are all very upset as all our time and effort is sort of wasted. But regardless, we learned many new infomations and exposed to all the obstacles for organising an event so i still think that lesson of holding an event is still worth.

So for now, i think we our group will just continue their social media postings and see what else is there to help in.

Blog Entry #14

At the meeting this morning, aside from all the other issues we discussed as mentioned in blog entry #13, Hazel also gave us access Made Real's google drive so that we could use the photos in the google drive to post content on their Facebook and Instagram. Hazel instructed us to create a Facebook album for all the photos taken at their event at East Coast Park. She told all of us to pick 30 photos to put into the album and give some of the more interesting photos a caption.

This is a screenshot of Made Real's google drive
When I got home that night, I downloaded the 30 pictures from their google drive, created a Facebook album for the event on Made Real's Facebook page and uploaded the photos.
This is a screenshot of the album that I created for Made Real on their Facebook page
for their event.

Blog Entry #11

8/7 Wednesday

So today, we uploaded the pictures from the event Fit For A Purpose to Made Real's Facebook page. We selected some of the best ones among all the pictures. However there are too much picture to put captions for all the pictures. Currently, it can be seen from the photo tab but not under the timeline of Made Real page. This is because, they have updated their website with a new article about the event. So we are to think of a caption for the post that relate to the photo album on Made Real Facebook page and the new article on their website.
Currently we only thought of ''#FitForAPurpose event post is up, head over to our website for new updates now! http://madereal.sg/fitforapurpose-shioksg/''. This is because with the hashtag, it is much easier to find and start a trend with that hashtag. Also, we attract readers to view new updates and added the link of the article on their website for easier access for the readers.

Blog entry #6

28/6/2015

That day, we went to east coast park to participate and help our in an even that ShiokSG and Made Real organised together. Although I was late for the crowd gathering part as I misjudged the travel time, I eventually managed to arrive in time to help in the crowd gathering after changing into the Made Real T- Shirt they gave us. We walked around east coast park talking to people and informing them of the event that we would be holding at the big tree beside the restaurant "Atmosphere" at 12 noon. After the crowd gathering ended, we gathered back at "Atmosphere" to take a short break. After that, we went on to participate in the first part of the work out event which was organised by Made Real. It was pretty relaxed and me and Qi Wen breezed through it.  Wei Jie and Ging Yang however, had a much harder time. We later went back to "Atmosphere" and were invited to play Laser Tag which was quite fun. After a 5 min break from the Laser Tag game, we went on to the second part of the event which was organised by ShiokSG. This time the exercise was extremely intense and we were extremely exhausted. We soon went back to the company office to shred some paper for next month's made real box and promptly went home after that.

On this day, we went to meet the president of the "Strictly Dance Zone" (The dance group we are working with) to discuss on the availability of the dancers on the dates of the flash mobs. We had a few problems trying to sync the timing of the flash mobs and when the members are free as we were unable to get "leave of absences" for them. Another problem was that the dance crew did not want to do an unprofessional performance. Fortunately, we managed to get dancers to come on the final road show on 14 August.

Blog Entry #10

  Tuesday 7/7

Today, our group head towards the Starbucks located in Clementi Mall for the meeting with Made Real. Only Hazel from the Made Real team was there. I was the first to reach and the rest soon follows. As Hazel did not reach yet, we settle down in Starbucks and do our own work.

Soon, Hazel arrive and we began our meeting. We first discussed about the flash mob and silent disco as it is of the main importance.  We said that we have already confirmed the dancers and they are free on 14th Aug which is the main roadshow date. However as i said in my previous post, we tried to get them to do flash mob before the roadshow but could not.

So the flash mob discussion is done with Hazel. Next was the Silent Flash Mob, after thinking about it. It seems quite risky that people would not even participate. As we did not managed to get flash mob before the actual event to generate the hype. So without hype, it is unlikely that people would attend the silent flash mob. So we were thinking to scrap off this idea.

Lastly, we discuss on the Facebook posting for the upcoming Hari Raya, SG 50 and their new theme for the month which is ''Around the World''. We look up other companies' social platform to find the ''element'' that makes their post having so much likes. And we have access to the folder full of pictures of the event that we all went which is the Be-You-Ti-Ful carnival. We are told to select some picture out of those 700+ pictures to post on their Facebook page.

Tuesday 7/7

We confirmed with the dancers and they are free on 14th Aug which is the main roadshow date. Previously, we wanted to have more flash mob beforehand. So we approached Shellvia who is the president of Strictly Dance Zone (SDZ) on 2nd July. So there was the problem about the Leave Of Absence from lesson  which is the main reason to why they could not have the whole team coming together. Also, they said that they do not wish to have an unprofessional performance so they did not allow only some people who are free to go perform the flash mob. After the discussion, we settled on at least have the dance on 14th Aug. At last, the dancers have at least been confirmed after a long time discussing with them.

Me, Ging Yang, Roseann, Wei Jie, Qi Wen and Zyi met at Clementi Mall today to discus on the dates of the flash mobs. We also decided on the posts for their Instagram and Facebook and that they should post other things rather than just their products. We went to search up on what Nature Box (A competitor) posted for their own social media websites. We found out that when they posted pictures of their own products, they didn't have much likes. However when they posted other things such as motivational quotes and other things, they had a lot of likes. We also realized that only Roseann had admin access to Made Real's Facebook page, so the rest of us chose some pictures for her to post. Our next meeting would be at next Monday.

P.S. I missed only 1 meeting.

Blog Entry #13

Today, 7 July, all of us went to Clementi Mall to meet with Hazel, Roslyn's younger sister and Robin's close friend. As Robin and Roslyn are now overseas in Shanghai, and are going to be there for the next month, they put Hazel in charge of us and Made Real.

The meeting this morning was to discuss further details for our event, update Hazel on our event progress and discuss how we could post content to their social media platforms.

We decided since we could not have the mini flash mobs we would just have a showcase by SDZ and Made Real's booth at the road show. We also decided to use Made Real's flyer at the roadshow instead of our previously designed flyer. We also told Hazel that we managed to get most of the logistics for the event.

After the discussion on the event, we asked Hazel if it was possible for us to post on Made Real's social media more often since Robin and Roslyn are busy in Shanghai. She agreed to that and asked us for ideas on what we could post on their Instagram and Facebook. I suggested having a Hari Raya and National Day themed post since both events were coming soon. Hazel told us that she wanted Made Real's Instagram page to look like Naturebox's. As seen from the photos below, Made Real's Instagram page looks 'messy' in the sense that it is a jumble of photos of food, people, boxes and events. Whereas Naturebox's Instagram page is 'cleaner' with mostly high-definition pictures of food and only 2 or 3 other types of pictures.

Hence we suggested to Hazel that maybe we should have shoots with other things like gym shoots. This way Made Real's Instagram will be more attractive as currently, all the food pictures on their Instagram is Made Real's snackbox products. This strategy is proven to be more effective, as seen from Naturebox's pictures. The pictures of Naturebox products on their instagram get less likes than pictures of other healthy things.
As seen here the picture of Naturebox's snacks got less likes than the picture
of the multi-coloured sun.

7 July 2015 (Tue)

We met Hazel at 10am this morning in Clementi Mall. We discuss about quite a few details.

Firstly on ideas for Facebook and Instagram Posts, We gave ideas for what other kind of posts instead of just products, because every posting mainly about the product people will not be interested, I gave example using NatureBox. NatureBox product post have very little likes compared to their motivational posts. Also we can use the upcoming festival period to promote, such as Hari raya and SG 50.

Secondly, we also talk about postings on Facebook. Not all of us gained the access to MadeReal's Facebook only Roseann has access to it. We will be posting the photos taken for #FitForAPurpose event on MadeReal's Facebook. Hence, our group will help with sorting out of photos, choose about 50 photos out of many, Roseann will then upload those photos to a new album we will be creating for MadeReal.

Thirdly, we discussed about our events, but sadly Ms Dora told us that our event will not be able to hold in SP anymore.

Our next meeting will be on Monday. Hope to update you soon on our progress on social media.

On 2 July, we met the president of Strictly Dance Zone (SDZ), Shellvia to discuss plans for the silent flash mob event. Shellvia had previously informed us that SDZ couldn't make it for the whole of July however we requested to meet with her to negotiate the dance dates.

In the meeting, Shellvia told us that the earliest date that they could make it to perform for us was in August. We told her that our final event, the roadshow, was on August 14 and she agreed to organize an SDZ performance for us. Since we could not have the mini flash mobs in July we decided to have 1 showcase from SDZ on 14 August during lunch and 1 silent flash mob after school.

Shellvia told us that SDZ would choreograph their own choreography for the showcase and also help us choreograph the silent flash mob. All they needed from us were speakers to play the music for the showcase. I had already approached my friend to borrow his amplifier for the event. For the background music for the silent flash mob I had approached my senior in DMAT to ask if he could give us one of his original soundtracks for the event and he agreed. Robin and Roslyn had also agreed to let us use the printer at their Aljunied office to print 200 copies of our event flyers.

Blog entry #18

02 July 2015 (Thursday)

We have a meeting with Shellvia, the president od the SDZ club, at food court 5 after school around 3pm. This meeting is compulsort and urgent as we really need their help in one of our event that we will be holding in July and August. Unfortunately, she said that they are really unable to make it for the July event as they have a really packed schedule to follow. The SDZ dancers however was able to make it for the main event which was held on August 14. We appreciate her effort to make time out for us and finalize the details. SDZ dancers will perform a 2 to 3 minutes dance to catch people attention and the main event will start after 30 minutes on August 14.

Blog entry #17

For 28 June 2015 (Sunday)
Ging Yang, Wei Jie and me met up in Dakota MRT before heading towards East Coast Park together to help Made Real with their Shiok SG event. After we reached Atmosphere restaurant, we have to tell the waitress that we are working for Made Real before we were allow to sit inside.

Surprisingly, we were the first to reach there, before Robin, Roslyn, Jun Hao and the rest reached. We were told to change into their Made Real shirt and start to promote the fitness program (Made Real) that will be going on at 12 noon beside the big tree nearest to the Atmosphere restaurant. We were walking down the path when Zong Wei found his way here and joined us.

On average, we were successful in promoting 2-3 times to either a group or a few people that a program ongoing will be taking place at 12 noon for a specific reason and handing them a Shiok sticker so that they can like their Facebook page. We also joined their fitness program at 12noon as not many participants joined, after deducting the Shiok SG people and Made Real people, there were only an estimate amount of 3-4 participants joining the program. It’s was fairly a simple exercise which ended in about 20 minutes.

Before we could eat our lunch, we had a game of laser tag which was very fun. Second round of promoting the fitness program (Shiok SG) but this time it is harder to find people to join the program. In the end I only saw two new participants joining the program and our group also joined the program together with the rest. This time round, the exercise is more intense which make my whole body ache for several days.

After the event has ended, we took Robin’s car and headed back to the Aljunied office and help out in shredding more papers until 5 pm when we really have to go home to do our assignments.

Overall, the day was quite fun except that it was a bit tiring.

5 July 2015 ( Sun )

Today Hazel (Roslyn's sister) called our group down to botanic garden to help out. GingYang and ZongWei were there going around the place to promote for MadeReal whereas Hazel asked me to help her with photoshoot for July's theme box " Around the World "

I reached at 12.30, was early so walked around. Hazel reached at 1 but left some stuff in her car so she went back and I waited till 2.

Hazel was there with her bf , and I brought my bf along too to help me with more ideas. We did a few different shoot for the boxes, a general shoot for the website and another for July's theme box!

I was given the chance to take the photos and even model for it.

I contributed by giving ideas, how to shoot it, how to display to have better appearance etc.

Though it was a hot day with lots of insects which I obviously dislike. But I'm glad to help her with tiny favour like this!

For 5 July 2015(Sunday)

Today only me and Zong Wei went to help out for Made Real SG at Botanic garden. We start to give out flyers and sell the snack boxes at price $20 each and we managed to convince 3 buyers to buy the snack box. Our strategy is this, we give out the Sng Baos first which is the teh c (something pop). We walked around the whole Botanic Garden and give out the Sng Baos first then introduced them what Made Real is about and sell the Made Real Snack Boxes. We managed to sold 3 snack boxes today and earned $60/-

I felt more confident when speaking now as just now managed to spoke to so many crowd of people in Botanic Garden, have Caucasian, Taiwanese, Koreans, Indians, Philippines, tourists.

After that around 2pm, Zyi and her boyfriend came to the Botanic Garden to help to do the photo shoot for Made Real July's theme: All Around The World !  We went to the pavilion in Botanic Garden and did some photo shoot for Made Real SG.

In the nutshell,
1. I learnt how to speak more confidently to strangers.
2. I learnt how to photo shoot the Made Real SG products.

Below are the photos of the "Event".

2 July 2015 (Thursday)

Today, we have a meeting with Shellvia at food court 5 in Singapore Poly around 3.05pm to 3.20pm. We met up and have a discussion on the cancellation of 3 flash mobs into 1 flash mob as the Strictly Dance Zone dancers really have no enough time in July to help out and they will help out in August. Thus, we finalize the details which is there will be 1 flash mob followed by the main road show on the same day 14th August.

2 July 2015

Today, we will be having a meet up with Shellvia, president of SDZ at 3pm regarding the collaboration with the dance group for our group's upcoming event.

Recently she mentioned that July will be a busy period for them, she said that she cannot guarantee to help us out due to everyone's schedule.

Therefore we are organising this meet up later to discuss with Shellvia face to face. I hope everything will go well...
